Don’t judge a house by its siding.

Tonight I took a walk although it was getting a bit dark and was also slightly rainy. Still, some exercise seemed like it would probably be a good idea.
I walked by a house in our neighbourhood that I’ve always been a bit sad about. It’s clearly a house about the same vintage as ours but it’s had the siding replaced and it isn’t what I would call a ‘cute’ house from the exterior. The siding is probably circa 1950 and the porch also has a weird ‘stone’ siding that doesn’t really go with the other siding.
Tonight as I walked by the front window was open — it never is — and I could see that there were wood columns in the living room that look very similar to ours. The woodwork is still in tact — if painted white — and there’s a built in cabinet in the dining room very similar to the one we have. Inside, the house is cute.
Sometimes things are diamonds in the rough.
It is apparently national blog post month. It’s also NaNoWriMo – National Novel Writing Month. I considered doing NaNoWriMo for five seconds while I was insane. Then I gave up on that idea. But I think I will try to post a blog post every day — or very nearly so anyway. You have fair warning that sometimes a) they may be photos & b) it may not always be on this blog. I have a fandom blog and a personal one as well and I typically try to not clutter this one up with non-family, non-bungalow related stuff.
